Reconcile IT Assets  

Merge duplicated asset details. The asset that was created last will be retained.

Use Case: Say an asset was created as follows,

  1. An asset is created manually by a user with a unique name.

Or,

  1. An asset is created by ServiceDesk Plus via purchase order.

After the asset is assigned to a user/department and scanned,

  1. The asset will be identified with its machine name.
  2. A duplicate asset with the scanned data will be created in AssetExplorer.

On reconciling, the vendor details, cost details, and purchase order ID will be updated to the scanned asset details.

  1. Go to the assets list view within a product type. 
  2. Select the assets you would like to reconcile. 
  3. Click Actions > Reconcile on the toolbar.
  4. Click OK.
You can reconcile only two assets at a time. If both the assets are received via purchase order, they cannot be reconciled.
This operation is not available for asset components.
