Chat Channels
Use chat channels to collaborate, discuss, and share ideas and feedback with users in the organization. For example, an IT support team can create a dedicated chat channel to address a key issue faced by certain customers, ensuring clear communication and providing real-time updates on the resolution.
You can also use chat channels to create private channels for confidential discussions among technicians working on important projects.
To create a chat channel,
- From the bottom left footer section, click on Channels and click New Channel.

- In the new chat channel pop-up, select if it’s an Organization channel or Team channel. Organization channel can include both requesters and technicians, whereas the team channel can only include technicians.

- Enter a name and description for the channel.
- Configure visibility of the channel. You can either set it to Public or Private. If you select Public, you can set criteria on which users can be a part of the channel. For private channels, users (selected participants) are accepted by invitation only.
Configure Channel Permissions
Under the Permissions tab, you can set the role-specific permission for the channel.
