Task Types allow categorization of similar tasks. For example, tasks related to troubleshooting of various kinds can be grouped under task type Troubleshooting. You can create Request, Problem, Change, and Project specific task types for categorizing tasks.
Go to Admin > Customization > Helpdesk.
Navigate to Task Types, click New.
Provide a name for the task type. This is a mandatory field.
Select a unique color to identify the task type.
Provide a short description about the task type.
Click Save or Save and Add New.

Edit/Delete Task Type - Click the Actions icon besides the task type to edit/delete it.
To bulk delete, select multiple task types and click
.
Filter Task Types - By default, the active task types are displayed on the task types page. Click the Task Types drop-down to switch between the Active and Inactive Task Types.

Reactivate Inactive Task Types - Edit an inactive task type and uncheck the Inactive box. Click Update to reactivate the task type.

You can also select multiple inactive task types and click Mark as Active.
Search through Task Types - Click the
icon to search through task types from the list view.
Limit the number of records displayed - Choose the number of task types to be displayed in the list view.
Sort Task Types - Click the
icon to sort the task types in alphabetical order.
