Assign Technicians to Change Roles
Change roles are stage-based access permissions for technicians defined exclusively for the Change module.
Role Required: Users with Add/Edit Change Stage permission.
Assign Technicians from Change Form
You can assign technicians to change roles while creating or editing change requests.
- Critical change roles are displayed along with the change properties.
- Other supporting change roles are displayed under Roles section in the Add/Edit Change form.
Roles are displayed in the change form as configured in the change template .
You can assign multiple technicians for supporting change roles.

Assign Technicians from Change Details Page
After creating a change, you can assign technicians to change roles from the change details page,
- In the change details page, go to Roles tab on the left pane.
- Click Edit to assign technicians in all role fields. You can also click
to spot-edit a role field.
- Select the user from the drop-down to assign or reassign the role. Users are listed based on whether the role is limited to:
- All users
- Technicians
- Technicians present in change request’s site and group
- Only support groups.

Critical roles such as ChangeManager, ChangeOwner, and ChangeRequester can be assigned exclusively to only one user.
For all supporting users, you can assign multiple users.
